I’m Bill Tenny-Brittian and I have the privilege of being the senior minister here at Raytown Christian Church
For over thirty years, I’ve served churches as pastor and as a church consultant. In that time, I’ve visited hundreds of churches and trained literally thousands of church leaders from coast to coast. And I can say with honesty that I have never been to a church that is more ready to be a blessing to the community than the people at Raytown Christian Church.
If you choose to stop by and worship with us on a Sunday morning (times) or to join us in Bible study on Wednesday evenings I can promise you a couple things.
First, you’ll be blessed. The vision of Raytown Christian Church is to help people say “Yes!” to Jesus and we take that mandate seriously.
Second, you’ll be welcomed. It’s not just about being hospitable, it’s about helping everyone feel at home here. We’re not just a friendly church … you’ll find and make new friends here. Friends that will be there with you in thick and thin, in good times and the not-so-good.
Third, you’ll be inspired. Everything we do at Raytown Christian is designed to move, touch, and inspire one another to be the best person we can possibly be. We believe that means discovering what God has created us for … and then pursuing that purpose in the company of Jesus Christ.
I encourage you to wander around this site and learn more about us … or better yet, make plans to join us this weekend. We promise you’ll be glad you did.
We bless our community through the Raytown Food Pantry that helps feed 40-60 families each week; through the Summer Lunch Program that provides lunch for upwards of 500 children a day throughout the Raytown School District; though the Enhancing Education Program that offers summer education for at risk children who need to enhance their academic prowess; and through many other ministry and programs we host, manage, and direct.
BIO … AKA My Pedigree
Born in the Pacific Northwest and began attending church nine months before I was born. I’ve never known a time when I didn’t consider myself a Christian, even in those times when I didn’t much act like it.
I joined the Air Force right out of high school and served in the United Kingdom.
When I was twenty-five I attended the Florida Baptist College in Graceville, Florida. I graduated in 1988 with a bachelors of theology.
Attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia and graduated in 1992 with a masters of divinity.
Attended Northwest Graduate School (Bakke University) in Seattle, Washington and graduated in 2004 with a doctor of ministry in church planting movements.
Every church I ever worked at saw significant growth and I became a speaker, writer, and church consultant in 2005. Since then I’ve written nine books on spirituality, church growth, and leadership development.
I play guitar … sort of. Drink coffee … I wrote three of my books sitting at my local Starbucks. And I consider myself a bit of a tech geek.
I’ve been married to the Rev. Dr. Kris Tenny-Brittian since 1991. We have five children, eight grandchildren, and four Old English Sheepdogs.
In our spare time, we go to movies and enjoy going out to eat. We still hold hands wherever we go.
