Free Summer Enrichment Program
July 5 –August 4
Embracing Education is a non-profit program that provides free summer support to students in the Raytown School District. Enrichment and tutoring opportunities are available, by application and acceptance, to students going into grades 1st–5th. This summer, qualified teachers and support staff will work with students daily from 9:00-12:00, July 5-August 4.
The goal of Embracing Education is to fill the gap between the end of summer school and the beginning of each new school year. We are the answer for families seeking year round educational support for their students.
Every day of the summer program is spent engaged in reading, writing, and math activities via multiple learning techniques. Students take a field trip each week to help make connections to the topics they are learning, and they also participate in the Raytown Mid-Continent Public Library summer reading program which allows them to earn free books. Last year students received 96 hours of one-on-one support which included 1440 minutes of reading enrichment.
In addition to academic support, students receive a healthy breakfast, snack, and lunch every day. Embracing Education works with the Raytown Summer Lunch Ministry and the Raytown Emergency Assistance Program (REAP) which provides school supplies for the upcoming school year.
Embracing Education is free to families committed to participating the entire length of the program. Enrollment is limited. Click here for application form.
