Prayers the Change the World
Too often Christians have treated prayer as if they were sitting on Santa’s lap and confidentially sharing their deepest desires. And because we’re adults, and we know how “Santa” works, we’ve expected God to grant us our every whim – especially when we think that it’s a legitimate and “good” request. When we do that, we are inadvertently diminishing our image of God … our God is too small. But then there’s the other side of the coin when we image our God as so big we’re forced to conclude that God doesn’t even notice us, let alone care enough to answer our prayers.
