Courage Regenerated

Series:
Passage: Matthew 10:16, 32–34

Cowardice isn’t a word we use much anymore. Instead, we offer excuses like, “I was too busy,” “I didn’t know,” or “That wasn’t my responsibility.” We don’t want to look bad. We don’t want people to think we’re ignorant or irresponsible, so when we fail, we take the easy way out. When it comes to our faith, we don’t want people to think we’re holier than thou, goody-two-shoed, or a fanatic. And so we downplay our religion, opt out of sharing our faith, offering prayer, or mentioning church. We don’t want to call it cowardice, but … This week, we’ll explore what Jesus had to say about courage and the lack thereof.
