Getting Past Yesterday
“Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.” McCartney didn’t have real life in mind when he wrote those words, at least not for most of us. What happened yesterday and yesterday’s yesterdays are almost always crowding in and coloring both our todays and our tomorrows. That might be okay if we brought the “good stuff” into our days, but mostly we hang on to the unkind words, the rude gestures, the underhanded deeds. And when we hang onto those, our past burns us up from the inside just waiting to erupt.
