In the Face of Giants
Bible Text: 1 Samuel 16:1–13 | Preacher: Dr. Bill Tenny-Brittian | Series: Invincible | Everyone has to face giants in their lives. Fearsome, cruel, and awful giants that would cut us down rather than even look at us. They bellow in the darkness and threaten in the light of day. You may be able to see them coming, but there’s nowhere to run … you cannot hide from the giants who loom before you. And yet, when confronted by the fearsome Goliath, David didn’t even seem to break a sweat. He strode forth with confidence and challenged the beast without a second thought. Some may say it was the folly of youthfulness that drove the boy to the challenge, but David knew better. David knew he was invincible in the face of giants. Where does that level of confidence come? In this week’s conversation, we’ll explore what it takes to be invincible in a world filled with giants desperately in need of slaying.
