Strong Moms Understand Sacrifice
Bible Text: 1 Kings 17:1, 7–16 | Preacher: Dr. Bill Tenny-Brittian | Series: Strong Moms | Probably my favorite movie clip of all times is the one in A Christmas Story when the family sits down to dinner pre-Christmas and the narrator says, “Mom had not had a hot meal in fifteen years” and we see her up to get seconds on cabbage and meatloaf for everyone else in the family. If there’s one thing Strong Moms know about, it’s sacrifice. Some mothers sacrificed their careers for their children. Some their marriages. And I suspect nearly all of them sacrificed quite a few hot meals. Men often speak of honor, duty, and sacrifice … but no one knows those words better than a mom.
