The Green Goblin and Jealousy

Passage: 1 Corinthians 12:12, 14–18, 26–27

Most of the time, jealousy is associated with romance and love triangles of some kind. But jealousy is a lot more universal than boy meets girl meets boy kinds of problems. Call it envy or covetousness if you want, but no matter what you call it, the root of all jealousy is fear. The fear that you won’t get what you want; the fear that you won’t be able to keep what you’ve got; the fear that you’re not enough. In other words, inadequacy. This week, we’re going to visit Spiderman’s nemesis the Green Goblin and life’s super-villain Jealousy to see what happens when you convince yourself that you are not enough.
